Have you ever been exasperated that your partner isn’t listening to you? They nod or respond but they’re not really paying attention. It drives me crazy and when that happens Eric often manages to diffuse my frustration with humor. He’s an imp and I love him for it; it saves us from a lot of arguments.
I remember an instance where I exasperatedly exclaimed “you’re not listening to me” and he retorted “of course I’m listening, I love your bird voice and every time you open your mouth it’s like a chorus of angels singing”. Needless to say, I spit coffee all over myself and my frustration vanished in a bout of uncontrolled belly laughs. Some days I want to strangle him; other days I want to hug him until I squish his guts out.
To this day, whenever I see a representation of angels or angel wings I am brought back to that moment and I smile.
These angel wings are a reclaimed project using wood scraps from the heart shutters Eric made for our house. I couldn’t bear to throw them away. I knew they could be turned into something fun and while putting the studio back together inspiration struck along with memories of a funny moment in my life.
These will be fitted with a decorative wire hanger and available in the shop soon. They would make a great gift for the angel voices in your life and are a great reminder to always focus on the funny!
He IS funny 🙂
Those are beautiful.
Thanks, Robin! He is silly and funny.
